Choosing the Best Motion-Detecting Camera for Home Security

I’ve recently started my journey into the world of smart home security, and I’m eager to share my experiences and insights. One of the key components I’ve been focusing on is finding the perfect motion-detecting camera that integrates seamlessly with my smart home ecosystem.

My primary goal is to set up a system that alerts me when it detects movement, whether it’s through notifications or even triggering other devices like lights. However, I’ve encountered a challenge: my beloved cat often roams around the house, and I don’t want false alarms to disrupt my peace of mind.

After some research, I came across the Arlo Q and Netatmo cameras, both of which seem to offer robust motion detection features. However, I’m curious if there are other options within my budget (around 1,500 SEK for five cameras). I’ve also looked into the TP-Link Kasa 120, but it seems to require an additional motion sensor, which adds complexity to the setup.

I’m particularly interested in hearing from others who have successfully integrated motion-detecting cameras into their smart homes, especially those who have pets. How do you minimize false alerts while ensuring that genuine security concerns are addressed promptly? Any tips, tricks, or recommendations would be invaluable as I continue to build my smart home security system.

Thank you for your insights and experiences!
