Hi everyone, I’m new to the forum and I’m currently in the process of deciding which outdoor camera to get for my home. I’ve been reading through some posts and doing a bit of research, but I’m still a bit unsure about which option would be best for me.
I came across the Camera V3 and the Outdoor model, and I’m trying to figure out which one would suit my needs better. From what I’ve read, the V3 seems to have better camera quality, but it requires wired installation, which means I’d have to drill holes in my house to run the wires. That’s something I’m not too keen on doing, especially since I’m not very experienced with home installations.
On the other hand, the Outdoor model runs on batteries and can be mounted anywhere without the hassle of wiring. It sounds like a more convenient option, but I’m wondering if it’s ‘good enough’ in terms of performance and reliability. I’ve heard that battery-powered cameras can sometimes have shorter battery life, especially in colder climates, but I’m not sure how that would affect my specific situation.
I’m also considering the maintenance aspect. With a wired camera, I wouldn’t have to worry about replacing batteries as often, but the initial setup might be more complicated. The Outdoor model, while easier to install, might require more frequent battery changes, which could be a bit of a hassle in the long run.
Has anyone here had experience with either of these cameras? I’d love to hear about your personal experiences, pros and cons, and any tips you might have for someone in my position. I’m really trying to make an informed decision here, and your insights would be invaluable.
Thanks in advance for your help! Jim
