As a smart home enthusiast, I recently completed my Christmas lights display and wanted to share my experience with the community. This year, I faced some challenges with my Govee lights, particularly with the audio settings on my CX810 cameras. The grey logo version had a much higher mic gain, making background noise overwhelming. However, after adjusting the noise reduction settings and ensuring both cameras were on the latest firmware, I managed to achieve a balanced audio setup.
For the lights, I utilized a combination of Govee LED strips and fairy lights, creating a warm and festive ambiance. I also integrated my existing smart home system to automate the lights, ensuring they turn on at sunset and off at 10:30 PM. The setup was a breeze with the Govee app, which offers a wide range of preset scenes and color options.
One tip I’d like to share is to test your lights during the day to ensure all connections are secure and there are no gaps in the display. Additionally, using a smart plug for the main power source allows for easy on/off control and energy monitoring.
This project not only brightened my home but also brought a sense of accomplishment. It’s amazing how technology can enhance something as simple as holiday decorations. Happy holidays to all, and if you’re working on a similar project, I’d love to hear about your experiences!
