Hi everyone, I wanted to share a bit of my recent experience with the SmartThings app and express a bit of confusion I’ve encountered. Just last night, my Samsung Galaxy S8 received an update labeled ‘SMARTTHINGS’. From what I can gather, this update seems to be focused on controlling my TV and other devices. However, it appears to be integrated with Bixby, as I noticed it has cards similar to Bixby. While this is intriguing, I’m not entirely sure how it all ties together.
All I know for certain is that I had both the official SmartThings app and this new update open on my phone simultaneously. This makes me wonder if they are indeed separate entities or if they’re meant to work in tandem. I’m curious to understand if this new update is a standalone app or if it’s an enhanced version of the existing SmartThings platform.
If anyone has insights or experiences to share regarding this update, especially concerning its integration with Bixby, I’d greatly appreciate your input. I’m eager to learn how this might improve my smart home setup or if there are any best practices I should keep in mind. Thanks in advance for any guidance you can offer!
