Codes stop working after a while and a few uses. Locked out

My guests have been locked out again. This happened unfortunately every time I generated a code remotely and shared with my guests. This is the issue: I generate a temporary code remotely via the aqara app (the lock is bound to the M3 hub) or in the Apple Homekit and the code stops working after a while or after 3 or 4 uses. Anyone else had the same experience and did you manage to resolve the issue? I was super excited with my Aqara u200 lock (I have at least 20 other aqara products across two homes), and was very happy having a lock compatible with Apple Home key in Europe. But this is my last try. If I don’t manage to resolve it this time, I’m switching to Nuki.

Hmm good question how long the temporary password is valid. Maybe @KinseyCreateGoods can give you the right answer.
But why don’t give your guest a permanent password and delete the guest after leaving. So at least that should work

Thanks for the tip! I have tried temporary passwords with a validity of 2-4 days, and also passwords with no expiration - they all failed every time after a while. The pattern is unclear, whether it’s time window, or times the code is used. I have also thought about issuing permanent passwords and deleting them after use, but I can only do that when I’m next to the lock. The issue is I manage the codes remotely since I live and work in a different country. Sometimes I’m away for months.

Got ya! That’s definitely difficult to set new passwords without being next to the lock! I also hope for more abilities by remote

There are one-time passwords and there are passwords that are valid for a certain time (specified by you). This is not a problem with the lock, but one of the security algorithms.

Thank you, Raman. The issue occurs consistently with the Remote Periodic Passwords generated in the aqara app, AND with access codes generated in Homekit. Would you please clarify what you mean with your comment “This is not a problem with the lock, but one of the security algorithms”? As an end user, how does this help me to have the issue resolved?
