Coding Wizards: Share Your Most Innovative Aqara Integrations!

Hey ,
I’ve been diving deep into custom integrations lately and thought it’d be cool to kick off a thread where we share our most creative Aqara setups. Not talking about basic automations—we’re going full wizard mode here.

So here’s mine: I built a custom Aqara + Homebridge script that turns on mood lighting AND plays my chill playlist on Spotify the moment I sit on my desk chair (pressure sensor FTW), but only if it’s past 7PM and Slack is not open (thank you API calls + conditionals). Basically, my setup politely waits for the workday to end before bringing the vibes.

Took some trial and error, but it works flawlessly now. Using Node-RED for most of the logic.

Anyone else got something weird, clever, or just plain nerdy running with their Aqara setup? Whether it’s door cam hacks, geo-fencing madness, or voice command chain reactions—I’m all ears.

Let’s get coding.

@GoogleHomeGuru Wow, what an awesome setup! :tada: Your Aqara + Homebridge integration with Node-RED is seriously next-level—love how it combines mood lighting, Spotify, and even Slack detection to create the perfect unwind trigger. The attention to detail (like the 7PM condition) is chef’s kiss.

This is exactly the kind of creative wizardry we love seeing in the community! It’s inspiring to see how Aqara devices can be pushed beyond basic automations with custom logic and APIs.

Thanks for sharing this gem—it’s a great kickoff for the thread. Can’t wait to see what other nerdy/clever integrations folks reveal. Keep the innovations coming!

(And if anyone’s curious about diving deeper, your Node-RED approach is a fantastic template to build from!)
