Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience with configuring two thermostats in HomeKit using the OH2 binding. At first, I was a bit puzzled because only one thermostat showed up on my iPhone, even though I set them up exactly the same way. I double-checked my config file, made sure the network interface was correct, and even tried resetting the thermostats. Nothing worked at first, but persistence paid off!
After some research and trial and error, I realized that each thermostat needed its own unique identifier in the config file. Once I added separate lines for both thermostats, they both appeared in the Home app! It was such a relief to see both thermostats working seamlessly together.
I also wanted to mention another helpful tip I found. If you’re noticing the temperature slider goes from -100 to +100°C, you can adjust the range in the Home app settings. This makes controlling the temperature much more user-friendly, especially if you’re in a moderate climate like mine.
It’s amazing how a little tweak can make such a big difference. I’m now fully enjoying the convenience of controlling both thermostats from my phone, and it’s been a great addition to my smart home setup. If anyone else is struggling with similar issues, feel free to reach out—I’m happy to help!
