Hey everyone, I’m Dave, and I’ve been trying to connect my older Samsung Washer and Dryer to the SmartThings app. I’ve successfully connected them to the Samsung Smart Washer App and the retired Samsung Home App, but now I need to switch everything over to SmartThings. The Challenge: My washer (WF457argsgr/aa) and dryer (DV457evgsgr/aa) are connected to my wireless network and show up in the Samsung Home App, but when I try to add them to SmartThings, they appear offline. I’ve tried removing them from the Samsung Home App and adding them directly through SmartThings, but it doesn’t recognize them. However, when I add them through the Samsung Home App, they show up in SmartThings but remain offline. It’s frustrating because I want to consolidate all my smart home devices into one app. What I’ve Tried: - Ensuring both devices are on the same WiFi network as my SmartThings Hub. - Checking the Smart Control option on the washer and dryer LCD screens. - Resetting the devices and trying to pair them again. Possible Solutions: - I’ve read that sometimes devices need a fresh start. Maybe resetting the washer and dryer to factory settings could help. - Another idea is to ensure the SmartThings Hub is fully updated and that there are no connectivity issues with my router. Tips for Others: - If you’re having trouble connecting older Samsung appliances to SmartThings, try the Samsung Home App first and then see if they sync over. - Make sure all firmware and apps are up to date.
