Connecting U50 to both HomeKit and Home Assistant

I wasn’t able to find instructions in the Aqara forum for connecting to both HomeKit and Home Assistant. I may have missed them somewhere but thought I would post anyway.

I’m using an Aqara M200 hub and these are the steps I used in this order:

  1. Add the lock to Aqara Home app first, but don’t bind to hub yet.
  2. Add the lock to HomeKit using the documented process for this.
  3. Now bind the lock to your Aqara Hub.
  4. Then add the Aqara Hub to Home Assistant through the matter integration.

This allows you use both platforms without removing the lock from HomeKit. You can then use the features in HomeKit like home key and fully control through HA.
