Hey everyone! I wanted to share my recent experience setting up a cozy night scene in my home. It’s been a fun project, and I’d love to hear how others approach similar setups!
I’ve been using Govee lights for a while now, and I have to say, their color variety and brightness options are fantastic. Recently, I decided to create a relaxing evening scene by combining my Govee LED strips with someHome Assistant automations. The goal was to have the lights automatically adjust to a warm, dim setting when it gets dark outside, creating a calming atmosphere.
Here’s what I did:
- Setup the Govee Lights: I installed RGB LED strips in my living room and connected them to my Wi-Fi network using the Govee app. It was super easy—just plug them in and follow the setup guide.
- Integrate with Home Assistant: Using the Home Assistant app, I added the Govee lights as devices. I then set up an automation rule that triggers when the sun sets. The rule dims the lights to 30% brightness and changes them to a warm amber color (RGB code: #FF4500).
- Create a Custom Scene: I also created a custom scene called “Cozy Night” that includes the lights, a smart speaker playing soft music, and a smart plug turning on a table lamp. This way, I can activate the entire setup with a single tap.
The result has been amazing! Coming home to a warm, inviting space after a long day has made a huge difference in my evenings. Plus, the ability to control everything from my phone or voice commands is incredibly convenient.
I’d love to hear how others have set up their home lighting and automations. Have you tried creating custom scenes? What’s your favorite way to use smart lights to enhance your home? Let’s share ideas and inspire each other!
