Hi everyone, I’m thrilled to share my recent project where I transformed two old iPhones into a budget-friendly smart lighting dashboard. This journey started with a desire to repurpose unused devices and enhance my home’s lighting control system. I wanted something functional yet stylish, so I decided to combine smart buttons with a custom dashboard setup in Home Assistant.The challenge was to create a seamless experience without compromising functionality. I ended up using an input select helper to manage different dashboard pages, each tailored to specific lighting scenarios. To ensure the dashboard resets to the main lighting controls after a period of inactivity, I implemented an automation triggered by user interactions, resetting the timer with each button press.This setup has been a game-changer for me, offering both convenience and a sleek interface.
