Creating Seamless Aqara Automations for Your Morning Routine

Hey everyone, just wanted to share how I made my mornings way less painful thanks to a few Aqara tricks. I’m pretty new to the smart home game (picked up my first Hub a couple months ago), but figured out a simple setup that’s been working like magic.

So here’s the deal—my goal was to roll out of bed and not feel like a zombie. I set up an automation so that when my bedroom motion sensor detects movement between 6:30 and 8am, it kicks off a few things: lights fade on to 40% (can’t handle full brightness right away), my plug turns on the kettle, and the bathroom heater kicks in if it’s cold.

The cool part? No phone needed. It just happens and feels pretty natural.

Still tweaking the timing a bit—some mornings I’m too lazy to move and the lights don’t come on till I actually roll off the bed lol. Thinking of adding a vibration sensor under the mattress next.

Anyone else doing cool morning routines with Aqara? Would love some ideas or tips—especially for getting the coffee machine going automatically without burning the house down.

@IoT_Ninja Thank you for sharing your creative morning routine setup! It’s always refreshing to see how Aqara devices can be used to make daily life smoother and more enjoyable. Your current setup with the motion sensor and smart plug is a great foundation for a seamless morning start.

Considering your interest in automating the coffee machine, you might want to explore using the Aqara Smart Plug. It could potentially be programmed to turn on the coffee machine at a specific time or under certain conditions, like when your bedroom motion sensor is triggered. Just ensure that your coffee machine is compatible with being switched on via a smart plug and doesn’t require manual operation to start brewing.

Adding a vibration sensor under the mattress is also a clever idea and might help with those lazier mornings by triggering the automation as soon as you start to stir.

I’d love to hear more from others in the community about their morning routines. Sharing tips and tricks can inspire even more efficient and enjoyable setups. Keep experimenting, and feel free to share any new discoveries!
