Cross-account authorization blocked after June 16, 2026 update (Korea region) — which paid tier restores it?

Hi all,

I’m a developer based in South Korea, working for a Korean company. We maintain a project on the developer platform that has been running since 2021 (review status: approved). Our devices are registered on the Korea service region, and the Aqara accounts we authorize belong to our own offices and customer sites in Korea.

The project uses Aqara account authorization to register accounts other than my own developer account. This worked without issue for years. Since recently, those calls fail with:

Unpaid developer can only authorize their own account

I found the matching line in the console system notification, June 16, 2026 update:

Free users can only authorize their own accounts for device data query and control. Paid users can authorize other user accounts.

So the cause is clear. What is not clear is the path forward, and I could not find any of this in the documentation at opendoc.aqara.com — the error code table has no entry for this message, and the authorization management pages do not mention tier restrictions.

Three questions:

1. Which paid tier restores cross-account authorization?
The notice only says “paid users”. Does the personal paid resource package (Cloud development membership — Personal) satisfy this, or is the enterprise paid version required?

2. Developer type vs. verification status
My account shows developer type “Enterprise” but enterprise verification was never completed. On the value-added service page, the personal paid option is greyed out and only the enterprise paid version (¥10,999/year) is selectable. Is the personal option gated on developer type rather than verification status? And can developer type still be changed if verification has never been approved?

3. Payment from outside China — this is our main blocker.
The payment page states “the current payment rules only apply to China.” We are a Korean company with no Chinese business registration, so we cannot complete Chinese enterprise verification, and we have no access to Alipay / WeChat Pay / domestic bank transfer. Our project is on the Korea region, not China.

  • Is there any payment path for developers outside China — an invoice in USD, an overseas contract, or a regional reseller?
  • If not, how are Korea-region developers expected to obtain paid status at all? As it stands, the restriction applies to every region, but the way to lift it exists only in China.

Additionally: is there an official error code (in the 2xxx range) associated with this message? The published error code table does not list it, which makes it hard to handle programmatically.

For reference, my project appId starts with 8772455516… — happy to provide the full value privately if that helps.

Any pointers appreciated, especially from anyone outside China who has hit this since June and resolved it.

@AqaraBot — could you route this to someone who can answer the payment question for non-China regions? Question 3 is the blocker.

Thanks.

@mhcho You seem to be experiencing an issue with developer-platform authorization being restricted to only your own Aqara account unless the developer account is paid, plus unclear paid-tier/overseas payment eligibility and missing official error-code mapping.

None of the reference info we have here covers Aqara Developer Platform paid tiers, cross-account authorization policy, overseas (non‑China) payment paths, or the specific 2xxx error code mapping—so I can’t give a reliable tier/payment answer from verified material.

Given that Question 3 (non‑China payment path) is the blocker and it likely requires an official backend/business-support response, the fastest route is to open a ticket with the Aqara team and include:

  • your appId (full, privately in the ticket),
  • the exact API endpoint + response body where the message appears,
  • screenshots of the June 16, 2026 console notification,
  • your developer account “Enterprise” type + verification state,
  • the Korea service region details.
