Hey everyone! I wanted to share a fun and slightly unexpected project I worked on recently. It all started when my Glide Lively Bars stopped working a few months ago. At first, I was a bit devastated because they were such a key part of my setup. But then, I thought, ‘Why not give them a second life?’
After some careful consideration (and a bit of luck), I managed to bring them back to life in a way that’s even better than before! Here’s how I did it:
-
Exploration: I opened one of the bars and was surprised to find that the internal components were still intact. The shell was in great condition, but the lighting module was lifeless.
-
Repurposing: Using some double-sided foam tape, I attached a new H61B5 LED strip to the inside of the bar. This gave it a fresh, modern look while maintaining its original aesthetic.
-
Customization: I experimented with different configurations and found that using the foam tape allowed me to secure the strip firmly without any gaps. This made the lighting even more versatile!
-
Testing: I was thrilled to see that the new setup not only worked but also provided a wider range of color and brightness options. It’s now a staple in my workshop setup!
This experience taught me the value of repurposing and getting creative with what I have. If you’re ever faced with a similar situation, don’t hesitate to think outside the box—sometimes, a little ingenuity can lead to amazing results!
Cheers to all the DIY enthusiasts out there! ![]()
