I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation lately, and it’s been an exciting journey filled with both triumphs and challenges. One of the first things I wanted to customize was the visual representation of my devices. I came across a post about changing icons for switches, and I thought it would be a fun way to make my setup more personal. I managed to set up a water drop icon for when my switch is on and a strikethrough for when it’s off. It’s such a small detail, but it makes the interface so much more intuitive for me!
Another project I’ve been working on is integrating my Tesla into Home Assistant. I have a PV system, a battery, and a Keba wallbox, and I’m really interested in optimizing my self-consumption. I’ve seen some great setups in the community, and I’m eager to replicate that. It’s a bit overwhelming with all the configurations, but I’m taking it step by step.
On the lighter side, I had a funny issue with Alexa recently. I misplaced my phone and tried asking her to call it, but she responded with “Contact is not available.” After some troubleshooting, it turned out to be a simple fix, but it was definitely a moment of frustration followed by relief!
I’m also really impressed with how the community shares tips and tricks. For instance, someone mentioned using custom icons and another talked about Tesla integration. It’s amazing how much you can learn just by reading through others’ experiences. I’m looking forward to sharing more as I continue to explore and tweak my setup.
