Hi everyone, I’ve been diving into customizing my Home Assistant setup and thought I’d share my journey. One of the things I wanted to do was make my garage door status more visually intuitive. I have an Aqara binary sensor detecting the door’s state, and I wanted the icon to change based on whether it’s open or closed.
At first, I wasn’t sure where to start. I knew I needed to modify the frontend, but the exact steps were a bit fuzzy. After some research and tinkering, I figured out how to set it up using the Lovelace UI. It’s such a small touch, but it makes the interface so much more user-friendly.
