Debugging Lights Turning On Randomly - Solved!

Hey everyone, I wanted to share a little story about a quirky issue I ran into with my smart home setup. It was both frustrating and fascinating, and I’m happy to say I figured it out with some help from this awesome community! :rocket:

A while back, I noticed that one of my lights would occasionally turn on by itself. It wasn’t a huge problem, but it was definitely puzzling. I checked the logs, and while I could see the state change, there was no clear indication of what triggered it. I tried disabling automations, checking for interference, and even resetting the bulb—all to no avail.

Fast forward a few weeks, and I stumbled upon a post in the forums about debugging state changes. Someone suggested using the developer tools to track down the source of the trigger. I decided to give it a shot, and wow, did it make a difference!

By enabling debug logging and using the history and logbook features, I was able to pinpoint exactly what was causing the light to turn on. Turns out, it was a tiny automation I had set up months ago that I completely forgot about! Once I disabled it, the issue was resolved. :tada:

This experience taught me the importance of thorough documentation and the value of this community. If it weren’t for the helpful tips and support from everyone here, I might still be scratching my head. Thanks, everyone, for being such an amazing resource! :bulb:
