Detecting When the Last Person Leaves the House in webCoRE

I’ve been trying to set up an automation in webCoRE to detect when the last person leaves the house, but I’m running into some issues. Let me walk through my thought process and see if anyone can help me figure this out.

So, the goal is to have an automation that triggers when both my phone and my wife’s phone are no longer present at home. I initially tried using the ‘change to not present’ condition, thinking that it would trigger when both devices leave simultaneously. However, that didn’t work as expected. I decided to switch to the ‘are not present’ condition, assuming that once both devices are away, the automation would kick in. But even after saving the rule, it didn’t activate, even though neither of us was home at the time.

I tested the automation manually, and it worked perfectly, which means the issue isn’t with the rule itself but rather with how the presence detection is set up. I’m wondering if there’s something I’m missing in the configuration. Could it be related to how the presence sensors are set up, or maybe a delay in the system recognizing the absence of both devices?

I’ll be monitoring this closely tomorrow when we leave for work to see if the rule triggers as intended. If it doesn’t, I might need to explore alternative methods or check if there are any known issues with presence detection in webCoRE. Any insights or suggestions from the community would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for your time and help!
