Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with updating the firmware on my Shelly Dimmer2 devices. It’s been quite an interesting journey! I have two Dimmer2 units controlling identical LED ceiling lights in my dining room. One of them was updated to firmware 1.9.6, while the other remained on 1.8.5. After the update, I noticed a significant difference in brightness levels—100% on the updated device seemed much dimmer compared to 30% on the older firmware. At first, I was a bit puzzled and even wondered if there was a malfunction. However, upon further research and some trial and error, I realized that this change in brightness scaling might be intentional to optimize energy usage and provide more precise control. It’s a bit of an adjustment, but I appreciate the added flexibility it offers in creating different lighting scenarios.
