Hello everyone, I hope you’re all doing well! I wanted to share my journey of finding the perfect lighting setup for my home. I’ve been using Philips Hue lights for quite some time now—everything from bulbs, strips, to the Go and candle versions. However, I’ve always felt that the Hue bulbs just don’t emit enough light, especially in the warmer white tones we use often for that cozy, hygge feeling.
I suffer from depression and have some health issues that keep me indoors a lot, so having adequate lighting is crucial for me. I’ve tried everything from adding more lamps to doubling up on Hue strips in key areas, but I still felt like I was missing something.
Recently, I came across LIFX bulbs and was pleasantly surprised to learn that they have a much higher lumen count, especially in warmer white tones. This seemed like the solution I was looking for! I use SmartThings (Gen 2 bridge) and Google Assistant with my Google Home and Nest Hubs, and I’m also experimenting with HomeKit. I’m curious to know if integrating LIFX bulbs with my existing Hue system would be seamless with these platforms.
Would there be any downsides to mixing these two systems? Or is there a Hue-compatible bulb that offers the same high lumen output as LIFX? I’ve done some searching online but haven’t found much, so I thought I’d reach out to the community for advice.
Has anyone successfully used both Hue and LIFX systems? What was your experience? Any tips or recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help.
