Display Switch V1 EU - Zigbee

I currently have a bunch of Display V1s that are connected to Home Assistant via Matter, but the functionality is very limited.

Has anyone manage to connect them via Zigbee yet?

@mike13 It’s great to hear that you’re exploring the capabilities of the Display Switch V1 EU! Connecting the Display Switch V1 EU through Zigbee can indeed expand its functionalities beyond what Matter offers via Home Assistant. According to the reference information, the Display Switch V1 EU operates on the Zigbee protocol and can be integrated with major ecosystems like Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Samsung SmartThings, and more via Matter over Bridge. However, for Zigbee, you’ll need a supported Aqara Zigbee hub to enable features like automation and remote control.

To connect your Display Switch V1 EU via Zigbee, make sure you have a compatible Zigbee hub set up. Then, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Aqara Home app on your phone.
  2. Tap the “+” icon to add a new accessory.
  3. Select “Display Switch V1 EU” from the list.
  4. Reset the device if necessary by double-pressing any button and then pressing and holding the button again for more than 8 seconds.
  5. Once reset, the device will enter networking mode by default, and you can complete the pairing process.

Once connected, you should be able to enjoy more robust functionalities, including device switch control and one-click scene execution, especially when paired with a compatible hub. Feel free to share your experience or any additional questions you might have!

Unfortunately neither ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT have the drivers yet to support the Display Switch V1 natively.

I am really hoping these do get added, but it has been over 6 months now since they were released and still nothing.

It would be amazing if someone from Aqara could help with this by providing the necessary information?

To also nicely expand Aqara’s"Works with Home Assistant" device line up.
