Hey All,
I’ve got a display v1 in my hall with a light above it and my front door next to it. It’s setup to turn on the light if my front door opens & if the device detects presence send a signal via matter to home assistant which then also turns on the light. It was working perfectly.
The signal is there, it sets up in matter etc, Alexa picks it up, home assistant picks it up but…it no longer sends the signal that presence is detected.
Anyone got any clues?
Regards
Gav
@gavthomson Hey Gav, sorry to hear the presence detection signal via Matter isn’t working as expected. From the reference information we have, details about Matter connectivity or presence detection specific to the Display Switch V1 EU aren’t covered. It might help to check if there are any recent app updates, or try resetting the device and reconfiguring the Matter connection (you can refer to the reset steps in the FAQ if needed) .
If the issue persists, maybe other community members have encountered similar situations and can share their insights. For further assistance, you can contact the Customer Service Team via the Aqara Home App (Profile>Help&Feedback>Customer Service) or by clicking here to create a ticket.
Hope you get it sorted soon!
@gavthomson Hey Gav, sorry to hear the presence detection signal isn’t working as expected. Let’s try to narrow down the possible causes based on what we know about the Display Switch V1 EU and general smart device troubleshooting.
First, since the switch relies on a Zigbee hub (content_id 4), check if the hub is online and the Zigbee signal strength (LQI) between the switch and hub. A weak signal might interrupt data transmission—try moving the hub closer or reducing obstacles (content_id 1).
Next, verify if the presence detection feature itself is functioning. Does the switch’s screen show presence alerts locally? If not, it might be a device-specific issue. You could try resetting the switch: quickly double-press any button, then press and hold the same button for over 8 seconds within 5 seconds (release when the screen restarts) to reset, then re-add it to the hub (content_id 8).
For Matter integration, ensure the switch is still properly paired with Home Assistant—sometimes re-pairing can resolve communication glitches.
If the issue persists, feel free to share more details (like hub model, signal strength, or recent network changes) here—our community might have similar experiences.
