DIY Garage Door Opener with Xiaomi and H3BA-N8H Relays

Hey everyone, I’ve been really excited to share my recent DIY project with you all! I’ve always wanted to automate my garage door, but finding the right setup that’s both reliable and budget-friendly was a bit of a challenge. After some research and experimentation, I found a solution that works perfectly using the Xiaomi Aqara Two-way Relay and the H3BA-N8H Relay. Let me walk you through how I did it!

First, I set up the H3BA-N8H Relay to “H” mode. Then, I paired the Xiaomi dual relay Zigbee with SmartThings. I plugged the switch into a 110V outlet and used the SmartThings app to automatically detect the device. It was recognized as a “Zigbee Switch Power,” which was a smooth process!

The next step was wiring everything up. I connected the Xiaomi and H3BA-N8H relays to my garage door controller board. I set the Relay to 2 seconds, which seemed to be just enough time for my garage door to open and close properly. The setup was a bit tricky at first, but once everything was connected, it worked like a charm!

I’ve been using this setup for a week now, and it’s been incredibly reliable. My garage door opens and closes smoothly, and I can control it right from my smartphone. It’s such a satisfying feeling to come home and have the garage door open automatically as I pull in!

I’d love to hear if anyone else has tried something similar or if there are alternative methods you’ve found effective. This project has really boosted my confidence in tackling more DIY smart home projects in the future. Thanks for reading, and happy automating! :fire_engine::sparkles:
