I’ve always been fascinated by the idea of integrating smart technology into everyday household items. One project that recently caught my attention was the concept of adding LED lighting to drawers. Imagine opening your kitchen drawers and having the space illuminated automatically, or adjusting the brightness through a smartphone app! 
I decided to give this a try and was pleasantly surprised by how straightforward the process was. I started by researching compatible LED strips and controllers that could be integrated with my existing smart home ecosystem. After some trial and error, I settled on a system that uses motion sensors to trigger the lights, ensuring they only activate when needed. This not only adds convenience but also helps conserve energy. 
One challenge I encountered was finding the right adhesive to secure the LED strips without damaging the drawer surfaces. I eventually found a solution using a double-sided tape designed for electronics, which worked perfectly. Another consideration was ensuring the lights didn’t interfere with my existing smart home setup. Luckily, the controller I chose was compatible with my Home Assistant installation, allowing me to control everything from a single interface.
