DIY LED Tribute to Veterans: A Heartfelt Project

As a passionate DIYer and someone who deeply values the sacrifices of veterans, I wanted to share a project that combines technology and tribute. My grandfather, a decorated veteran, inspired me to create a custom LED display in his honor. This project is a way to remember and celebrate the 14 million men and women who have served our country.

The setup involves a series of programmable LEDs that cycle through patterns representing military symbols and patriotic colors. I used an Arduino Uno to control the sequence and added a motion sensor to activate the display when someone approaches, making it interactive and engaging.

One challenge I faced was ensuring the LEDs were energy-efficient and could run continuously without overheating. After some research, I opted for addressable RGB LEDs with built-in PWM control, which allowed for smooth color transitions and reduced power consumption.

I’d love to hear if anyone else has similar projects or tips for enhancing such tributes. Whether it’s a simple light display or a more complex automation, every effort to honor our veterans is meaningful and appreciated.

Thank you to all the brave individuals who have served and continue to serve our country. Your legacy is something we should all strive to cherish and remember.
