Hi everyone, I wanted to share a couple of updates from my smart home journey. First, I’ve been experimenting with some DIY lighting setups, and I’ve got to say, the results have been fantastic! I’ve been using RGBIC LED neon rope lights to create some really cool effects in my home theater setup. The colors I’ve been playing with—blue, red, and purple—give off a nice, dark ambient light that’s perfect for movie nights or just chilling out. It’s amazing how a little DIY can transform the mood of a space. If anyone has tips for getting the most out of these lights, I’d love to hear them!
On another note, I’ve been diving into an OpenHAB project to integrate my HVAC system. It’s been a bit of a learning curve, but I’m really excited about the potential. I’ve got a Hoval boiler and some room thermostats, and I’m looking into using an OpenTherm gateway to connect everything. I’ve found some great resources online, and the community support has been invaluable. If anyone has experience with OpenTherm or HVAC integration in OpenHAB, I’d love to hear about your setups or any challenges you’ve overcome.
I’m also curious about anyone who has successfully integrated multiple smart home brands. I’ve got a mix of devices, and while they mostly work together, I’m always on the lookout for ways to streamline things. Have you found any apps or methods that make managing different ecosystems easier?
Looking forward to hearing from everyone and sharing more updates as my projects progress. Happy smart home tinkering! ![]()
