Hey everyone! I just wanted to share a fun project I’ve been working on for Easter using Govee glow-in-the-dark stickers. I’ve always been a fan of creative DIY projects, especially when they can be integrated with smart home tech. These stickers are such a cool idea, and I love how versatile they are!
For Easter, I decided to create a glowing Easter egg display that lights up automatically when it gets dark. I used a combination of Govee stickers and some simple automation rules in Home Assistant. Here’s how I did it:
-
Sticker Placement: I placed the glow-in-the-dark stickers on the eggs in a pattern that creates a nice visual effect. The stickers really pop under UV light, so I added a small UV light strip to enhance the glow.
-
Automation Setup: I set up a scene in Home Assistant that turns on the UV lights at sunset and dims them after a few hours. This way, the display is energy-efficient and doesn’t run all night.
-
Interactive Element: I also added a motion sensor nearby. If someone walks by after the lights have dimmed, the UV lights briefly reactivate, creating a fun surprise effect.
This project has been a hit with my family, and it’s been a great way to get into the Easter spirit. I’d love to hear if anyone else has done something similar or has creative ideas for using Govee stickers in their smart home setups!
To all the Easter bakers out there, happy decorating! ![]()
