Hey folks,
Just wanted to share a fun little project I’ve been working on with my Aqara smart door lock (N100 if you’re wondering). As a smart home DIY junkie, I’m always looking for ways to squeeze more from my gear. The lock is great out of the box, sure—but with a little tinkering, it can do even more.
So here’s what I did. I integrated it with my Aqara motion sensor at the entryway to trigger a welcome scene only if someone unlocks the door and enters. This avoids false triggers when someone unlocks it remotely but doesn’t actually come in. Lights turn on, the AC kicks in, and a gentle playlist starts—pretty sweet when your hands are full with groceries.
Also hooked it up with Home Assistant for more granular control. Now I get notifications not just when the door’s unlocked, but who unlocked it, thanks to individual fingerprint IDs. Super helpful if you’ve got kids or roommates.
Anyone else modded their lock setup in cool ways? Open to ideas or questions—let’s geek out a bit!
