Symptoms:
- The G350 and the Matter Hub are on the same local area network (LAN), Commissioned via Matter and joined the same Fabric.
- When only the Hub is rebooted (while the camera remains powered on), the Hub sends a CASE Sigma1 request to the IPv6 link-local address
fe80::…:5540, but receives no UDP response. - The G350’s mDNS advertises both IPv6 and IPv4 addresses simultaneously.
- However, when the Hub switches to the IPv4 address
192.168.2.x:5540, it receives a Sigma2Resume response in about 4 ms. - The device appears to be online and functional; only the IPv6 communication path fails.
- firmware version:4.5.20_0020.0017
Questions:
- Is the Matter UDP 5540 port on this specific model IPv4-only?
- If the device does not support IPv6 for the Matter protocol, should its mDNS stop advertising the IPv6 address?
- For controllers that prefer or prioritize IPv6 link-local addresses, is there an upcoming firmware fix or any troubleshooting guidance available?
