Doorbell Camera Hub G410 Recurring Issues Announcement

Dear Aqara Users,

We’ve recently received two recurring points of feedback regarding the G410. Aqara Team is addressing these issues carefully and would like to update our users on our progress.

Feedback 1 High-Temperature Alerts
• Symptom: Users receive temperature alerts too frequently.
• Cause: These alerts stem from initial software thresholds being set lower than optimal, not hardware-related issues.
• Optimization: We are refining the alert logic to prevent unnecessary triggers.
• Immediate Support: Affected users may contact support@aqara.com for individual early updates prior to the public release.

Feedback 2 Partial Scene Overexposure
• Symptom: In high dynamic range scenarios, extremely bright areas appear overexposed or lack detail in video.
• Cause: The device prioritizes image brightness in key monitoring areas (e.g., doorsteps), which can result in overexposure of brighter areas (e.g. sky, street).
• Optimization: Subtle adjustments for balanced exposure will be delivered.
• Future Consideration: We are evaluating the feasibility of implementing manual brightness control for enhanced customization.

The optimization of the above two issues will be included in the version 4.3.6_0058.0068, scheduled for release in early August.

We appreciate your patience as we work to enhance your experience. Your insights remain invaluable in shaping our products.

I’m super glad, as always, you’re recognising issue publicly and committing to fix them promptly and openly. However, it’s clear that perhaps Aqara are releasing things too soon. Many of your recent product releases have had issues and some with ongoing issues. Your products are great when they work, but it’s incredibly frustrating to face so many issues when company much smaller can get it right on their first attempt. Keep up the good work, but I’m sure this is something other users are noticing too.

Excellent news on theese items being addressed. What about the annoyance of exposing an alarm system to HomeKit that is not needed? If a user has a real alarm system this is an issue as it causes voice commands to want to address two alarms for arming and disarming and could leave users unsafe by mistakes being made for arming/disarming the wrong one. Further to add to the confusion when you have multiple Aqara devices with alarms you’re exposing them all. Which makes it worse for the user.
