E1 camera stopped tracking and wifi Instability problems

Has anyone experienced their E1 tracking camera stop tracking and wifi Instability like crazy. I think last update corrupted the camera firmware. And nothing seems to get it working again.

No problems for me, but I do have a pending update. I’ll update my E1 today and report back.

Did you try making an factory reset and add it back?

Hello, as always, I recommend checking the entire system. The first item is the power supply and cord.

I separated my WiFi to place the E1 on 2.4Ghz only network. Ensured block POWER OUTLET power supply is rated properly. Took camera off DHCP to static IP. Did hard reset. Camera still goes offline. I’m thinking about just replacing with a G100 as the 3 I have work great! This one is a head scratcher?

@james41 Yeah, that is a head scratcher—especially since you’ve already done most of the “usual suspects” (2.4GHz-only SSID, solid power, static IP, hard reset).

A couple of Aqara-specific checks that are still worth doing:

  • Confirm it’s truly on 2.4GHz and staying in good range. The E1 only supports 2.4GHz Wi‑Fi (not 5GHz), so keeping it on a separated 2.4GHz SSID is the right move—but if the signal is weak/intermittent where the camera sits, it can still flap offline.
  • Power/cable sanity check (even if the outlet is fine): Try a different cable and adapter, and do a full power cycle (unplug, wait, replug). Random “offline” behavior can be power-related even when it seems fine.
  • Work through the standard “offline in app” recovery sequence: restart camera, reboot router, confirm internet stability, check for firmware updates, inspect cables, and make sure the app is updated.
  • If you haven’t already, re-add after reset: Sometimes a full rebind helps when the device behaves weird post-update. If pairing is flaky, also check for router settings like AP isolation / anti-squatter, and avoid special characters in SSID/password.

If it’s still dropping offline after all of that, it likely needs hands-on support to look at logs/device state. Contact the Aqara Home App Customer Service Team (Profile> Help & Feedback > Customer Service) or scan the QR code:

If you do end up swapping to a G100, I’d still be curious: does the E1 go offline on any 2.4GHz network (e.g., phone hotspot test) or only on your home router? That detail usually points to “device issue” vs “router compatibility.”

I’ll relocate the camera and see what that does.

@james41 Good call—relocating is a quick way to confirm whether this is just a weak/intermittent Wi‑Fi spot.

While you’re testing the new location, two other simple checks that often help narrow it down:

  • If you still can’t watch live view at times, verify the camera’s indicator is solid blue, then restart the router and the camera to see if the stream stabilizes.
  • If the device card weirdly shows “normal” but behavior feels off, try a full power off → power on cycle from the camera side.

If the Wi‑Fi becomes stable after the move but tracking is still acting odd, it’s also worth running PT Calibration in the Aqara Home app (Device Settings → Pan Tilt Settings → PT Calibration), especially if the camera has been manually moved/rotated—this can fix inaccurate pan/tilt positioning.

If none of that changes the “offline/flapping” behavior after relocation, you’ll likely need support to check logs/device state. Contact the Aqara Home App Customer Service Team (Profile> Help & Feedback > Customer Service) or scan the QR code:

Hello. I decided to return the E1 Camera and I ordered another G100. Love the Aqara line of products I have.
