Whats the difference between the two besides the new one supports Thread ? Is it worth waiting for the new version ?
Personally I will use the W600 for situations where the radiator valve control is horizontal, as it looks to have a screen on the side. I like the E1 for those radiators with a vertical valve because the screen is on the top.
Hello @TheGreatDane
W600 This is a more modern model with support for two protocols, quieter operation, screen location, screen rotation by 180 degrees.
Very interesting solution, I didn’t think about it.
Can I use rechargeable batteries?
Yes, you can use them. But I’ve had to learn that they don’t last very long in the E1 compared to normal ones.
You have to weigh up the pros and cons for yourself.
Interesting comparison thanks. Glad to see Zigbee still supported and it’s quieter. My big complaint with E1 was the plastic pegs on the bottom, I have them break off on one of the radiators I have. Any word if this fixes that issue?
good question, +1
I think that the blades in the w600 have become quite stronger; in the new E1 revision they were modernized.
I definitely have the version on the left. Great to see they’ve improved. I’m curious could it be all metal (like the ring) and be linked in to the “chassis” in a future version.
But the question is : is the w600 more sturdy ?
I’m really liking the W600. I had one on Test and I can report back that it’s silent when operating! This is a huge improvement for me over the old models and opens up usage in a bedroom or lounge. Previously I only would have used the Aqara TRV’s in a room where noise wasn’t an issue such as an office or kitchen.
