Echo Dot 5th Generation for Elderly Assistance

Hi everyone, I’m reaching out to get some advice on finding the right smart device for my elderly mother. She has trouble texting on her Android phone, and I want to find a solution that makes her life easier. I came across the Amazon Echo Dot and heard it might be capable of sending and receiving text messages using voice commands. Is this accurate? I’d really appreciate any insights or recommendations!

Additionally, I have an Amazon Blink doorbell with a sync module. I need the same smart device to integrate with the doorbell, notify me when someone is at the front door, and allow me to speak to them via the device without using the phone itself. Is the Echo Dot up to the task, or is there another Amazon smart device that might be simpler and more user-friendly for her needs?

I’m hoping someone here can shed some light on this. Thanks in advance for your help!
