Efficient Automation for Energy Savings

I’ve been exploring ways to make my home smarter and more energy-efficient. One challenge I wanted to tackle was my kids leaving the laundry light on, which can be a bit of a drain on energy. I decided to set up an automation to turn the light off after 15 minutes of being on.

I’m using Smart WiFi switches connected to Home Assistant via Tuya. Initially, I wasn’t sure if the 30-second polling interval would affect the automation’s reliability. After some research and tweaking, I found that the automation works perfectly! It’s a simple yet effective solution that helps conserve energy without any hassle.

If anyone else is looking to implement similar energy-saving automations, I’d recommend starting with small, manageable projects like this. It’s a great way to get familiar with your system and see the immediate benefits of smart home technology. Happy automating! :seedling:
