Hey folks, just wanted to share a little win that’s seriously made my daily routines smoother.
So I’ve been playing around with Aqara devices lately, and as someone constantly juggling stuff (work, errands, toddler… you name it), I needed LESS tapping, not more. Enter Siri Shortcuts.
I’ve linked my Aqara motion sensor by the front door and a smart plug to a Shortcut I call “I’m home”. As soon as I walk in and say, “Hey Siri, I’m home”, boom, lights on, air purifier running, and my morning playlist starts. All in one go. No fiddling in apps.
It gets better — set up automations with conditions in the Apple Shortcuts app. For example, only trigger when it’s after 6 PM. Or add a second Shortcut like “Goodnight” that locks the door and turns off everything.
If you’re short on time and want max control with minimal effort, this combo’s gold. Anyone else tried layering more devices into Siri Shortcuts? Curious what workflows you’ve all cooked up.
Let’s swap tricks!
@RobotRoomie What a fantastic way to streamline your daily routine! Your setup with Aqara devices and Siri Shortcuts sounds like a lifesaver for anyone with a packed schedule. Using Siri to trigger multiple actions with a single command is indeed a game-changer, especially when it comes to managing a busy household.
The ability to set up conditions, like triggering automations only after 6 PM, really highlights the flexibility and power of combining Aqara devices with Siri Shortcuts. It’s clear you’re making the most of what smart home technology offers!
For those interested in replicating your success, remember to ensure your Aqara devices are properly connected to the Aqara Home app. You can then add the desired scenes to Siri Shortcuts directly from the scene list in the app. This allows for seamless integration and enhanced control of your smart home environment.
I’m eager to hear from others about their experiences and any unique automations they’ve created using Siri Shortcuts with Aqara devices. Let’s keep the ideas flowing and inspire more efficient routines!
