I’ve been absolutely thrilled with my journey into smart home automation, and I’m excited to share a fantastic solution I’ve developed to streamline my lighting controls. After experimenting with various apps, I decided to create my own to meet my specific needs, and the results have been phenomenal!
My apps, ‘Switchy Motions’ and ‘Switchy Scenes,’ are designed to offer two key functionalities. First, they allow me to turn lights on with motion sensors and off after a set period, even with scheduling options. Second, they enable me to set custom lighting scenes when a switch is activated, adjusting brightness and color temperature for different times of the day. This setup has transformed how I manage lighting in my home, making it both efficient and personalized.
One feature I particularly enjoy is the override switch. If I manually turn a light on, the motion sensor won’t turn it off, giving me full control without any disruptions. I’ve also found it easy to customize schedules, ensuring lights behave exactly as I want them to, whether it’s for mornings, evenings, or weekends.
I’d love to hear from the community—what features would you add to such apps? Have you implemented similar solutions and what tips can you share? Let’s collaborate to make smart lighting even smarter!
