Hey , Share a fun little win from my smart home journey—turning my boring home office into a productivity-powered zone with Aqara.
I’m not some hardcore automation guru, just a regular guy who spends way too many hours in front of a screen. I picked up a few Aqara sensors and switches during a sale and figured I’d give it a go. Fast forward a few weeks, and my office now basically “gets me.”
Here’s what I did: the Motion Sensor kicks on my desk light and a chill playlist when I walk into the room (linked it through Apple HomeKit). If the door’s closed and I’m still for a while, it dims the light to save energy—because clearly I’ve entered deep work mode or fallen asleep, lol. I even have a Vibration Sensor under my chair to detect if I leave. If I’m gone for more than 15 mins, everything powers down automatically.
Honestly, it’s made work feel smoother and less… annoying. No more fiddling with switches or forgetting to turn stuff off when stepping out for coffee.
Anyone else built something cool with Aqara in their workspace? Always down for more ideas!
