I’ve been thoroughly impressed with the Energy Dashboard in Home Assistant for tracking my energy, gas, and water usage. However, I’ve encountered a limitation that I believe could greatly enhance the functionality of this tool. Currently, I can download usage data files, but I can’t edit or re-import them after adding historical data from previous days, months, or even years. This restriction means I have to rely on external spreadsheets to maintain a comprehensive view of my consumption patterns. Wouldn’t it be fantastic if we could edit these files and upload them back into the Energy Dashboard, allowing the system to incorporate the additional data seamlessly? This feature would provide a complete picture of my usage in one place, streamlining my energy management process. I’m curious to know if others have encountered this limitation and if there’s any workaround or future update planned to address this need.
