Energy Module (HAOS) with Aqara products

Hi,

Do you guys know if there is any way to integrate or automate Smart Energy in HAOS with Aqara products?

Thank you,

@jcgiraldoh1 Hey there! Great question — energy monitoring with Aqara gear in Home Assistant is definitely a hot topic.

For direct energy data in HAOS, it really depends on which Aqara devices you’re using. Some Aqara products like the Dimmer Switch H2 (US) offer power monitoring with detailed daily/weekly/yearly reports in the Aqara Home app when wired with neutral[“content_id”:8"], but getting that data into Home Assistant typically requires going through Matter or cloud-to-cloud integrations rather than local Zigbee[“content_id”:9"].

Aqara is also working on a broader whole-house energy consumption feature that should roll out in future updates[“content_id”:5"], though timelines aren’t firm yet.

If you’re looking at current transformers for whole-panel monitoring, Aqara doesn’t currently support those directly[“content_id”:1"]. For that use case, you’d likely need a dedicated energy monitor (like Shelly EM or IoTaWatt) running alongside your Aqara setup in HA.

A couple of follow-ups to help narrow this down:

  • Which specific Aqara devices are you hoping to pull energy data from?
  • Are you running them through an Aqara Hub, or direct via Zigbee/Matter to HA?

That’ll determine whether you’re looking at native integration paths or need a bridge solution. Happy to dig deeper once I know your setup
