I’ve been diving into the world of energy monitoring with my Home Assistant setup, and I must say, it’s been an enlightening experience!
I recently integrated my IotaWatt energy monitor, which I’ve had for a couple of years now, and it’s been a game-changer for tracking my energy consumption patterns.
One feature I’ve been particularly impressed with is the daily energy usage graph. It starts off smoothly, but as solar production kicks in, I noticed something a bit odd—what should be shown as energy export is still being displayed as import in terms of color. As the day progresses, the dashboard continues to show both solar production and export, which has me a bit puzzled. I’m assuming there might be a configuration tweak needed, but I’m not entirely sure where to look. If anyone has encountered this before or has any insights, I’d be thrilled to hear your thoughts!
On a lighter note, I’ve also been experimenting with setting up my EV charger to utilize excess solar power. This setup has been a fun challenge, and it’s rewarding to see how closely the solar use graph tracks the solar production on days when the battery needs charging. It’s like having a mini energy management system right in my home!
I’d love to hear from others who are also using IotaWatt or similar devices. What tips or tricks have you discovered to optimize your energy monitoring setup? Let’s share our experiences and learn from each other! ![]()
