I’ve been diving into the world of home automation lately, and it’s been an incredible journey. From setting up smart lighting to optimizing energy consumption, there’s so much potential to make our homes not just efficient but also enjoyable. I’d love to share some of my experiences and tips, and I’m sure there are plenty of experts here who can offer even more insights!
One thing I’ve really enjoyed is experimenting with solar energy integration. I’ve been using Forecast.Solar to calculate the amount of heat entering my home through windows, which has helped me automate my roller shutters more effectively. By estimating the solar power using the window area and solar factor, I can block out excess heat when needed. It’s a small tweak, but it makes a big difference in energy savings!
Another area I’ve been exploring is maintaining my Zigbee2MQTT setup. I’ve been following some great tutorials to keep everything updated, but I’m curious if there’s a way to automate updates without manually running scripts. If anyone has tips on this, I’d be thrilled to hear them!
I’d also love to hear about your favorite smart home gadgets or any clever automations you’ve set up. For instance, has anyone successfully integrated outdoor cameras with indoor devices to create a seamless security system? I’m always on the lookout for new ideas to enhance my setup.
