I’ve been exploring ways to enhance my home security system, and I must say, integrating motion sensors has been a game-changer! 
I recently installed a few Aeon motion sensors and paired them with my existing Wyze cameras. The goal was to create a more responsive and efficient security setup, especially during the night.
One challenge I faced was ensuring the sensors didn’t trigger during daylight hours. After some research and tweaking, I discovered that adjusting the sensor’s sensitivity and setting specific active times (like 7 PM to 7 AM) made a huge difference. This way, the system only alerts me when motion is detected during the night, which is exactly what I wanted!
For those interested in automating actions based on sensor data, I found that using OpenHAB’s rule engine was incredibly powerful. For instance, when the motion sensor detects activity, it triggers my Wyze camera to record and sends a notification to my phone. It’s all about creating a seamless integration between devices!
