Hello everyone, I wanted to share my recent journey in enhancing my morning routine using smart lighting and Sonos. It all started when I decided to upgrade my bedroom setup to make waking up a more pleasant experience. I’ve always found mornings challenging, so I thought integrating technology could make a difference.I began by setting up a group of dimmable lights in my bedroom. The idea was to have them gradually brighten as the sun rises, simulating a natural wake-up process. To complement this, I connected my Sonos speaker to play soothing nature sounds. The key was to ensure the music started softly and slowly increased in volume, preventing any sudden jolts that might make me reach for the snooze button.Here’s how I did it: I created a playlist with one minute of silence followed by nature sounds. This allows the Sonos to start quietly and then ramp up the volume over time. I also made sure the playlist wasn’t set to shuffle, so the transition was smooth every day. For the lights, I used a group of dimmable bulbs and set up a rule to slowly increase their brightness over 10 minutes.The result has been transformative! Waking up now feels like a gentle transition from sleep to wakefulness, without the harshness of an alarm. The integration of lights and music has made my mornings calmer and more enjoyable.
