Enhancing Night Vision on Wyze Cams: A Frustrating Journey

I’ve been using Wyze Cams for a while now, and I must say, they’ve been a great addition to my home security setup. However, I’ve encountered a frustrating issue with the night vision feature on my Wyze Cam v2. Let me walk you through my experience and what I’ve discovered so far.

I have two Wyze Cam v2s: one monitoring my front door and the other keeping an eye on my carport. Unfortunately, the carport camera’s night vision isn’t working as expected. Despite multiple theft attempts and suspicious activities, I haven’t received any notifications for person detection at night. This is particularly concerning since my car, motorcycles, and other belongings have been targeted repeatedly.

To troubleshoot, I tested the camera’s night vision by waving my arms in front of it. Surprisingly, the motion detection worked, but the person detection feature didn’t trigger any alerts. This inconsistency is puzzling, especially since the door camera works flawlessly both day and night.

I reached out to Wyze support, and they mentioned that person detection relies on cloud processing. However, I’m still unsure why one camera works perfectly while the other doesn’t. I’ve tried resetting the problematic camera several times, but the issue persists.

I’m genuinely frustrated because this feature is crucial for my security needs. I’m considering whether the problem lies with the camera hardware or the cloud service. If anyone has encountered a similar issue or has any insights, I’d greatly appreciate your input!

In the meantime, I’ll continue monitoring the situation and explore any possible solutions. Hopefully, Wyze will address this issue soon to ensure all users can rely on their cameras for comprehensive security.

Thanks for your understanding and support!
