This holiday season, I’ve been experimenting with my Govee curtain lights to create a dynamic outdoor display. It’s been a fascinating journey, and I wanted to share my experience and some tips for anyone else looking to enhance their holiday lighting setup!
I’ve set up 11 different images on auto-play to create a random loop, which I absolutely love. It’s so much fun to see the different Christmas GIFs cycle through as people pass by. However, I’ve encountered a couple of challenges that I thought I’d share in case others are facing similar issues.
First, the minimum time configurable between image changes is 5 minutes. For my setup, this feels a bit slow, especially since I live on a small road where people might only glance at the display for a few seconds before moving on. I’d love to see an option to set the interval to as low as 5-10 seconds, but unfortunately, this feature isn’t available yet. I’ve reached out to Govee to suggest this as a potential update, and I hope they consider it!
Another issue I’ve noticed is with the auto-play feature and timers. After the display shuts off for the night, it sometimes powers back on after 5 minutes to cycle to the next image, overriding my “off” timer command. This can be frustrating, as I’d prefer the auto-play setting to remain disabled during off-hours and only activate when the display turns on again in the evening. I’m not sure if this is a bug or intended behavior, but I’m hopeful it can be addressed in a future update.
Despite these minor hiccups, I’m really impressed with how Govee curtain lights have transformed my holiday display. They’re versatile, easy to set up, and add a festive touch to my home. If you’re thinking about upgrading your outdoor lighting this season, I’d highly recommend giving them a try!
Happy holidays to all, and here’s to hoping for some exciting updates from Govee in the future! ![]()
