Enhancing Smart Home Security with Fibaro Smoke Detectors and Wyze Cameras

I’ve been on a journey to enhance my home’s security system, and I wanted to share my experiences and some tips with the community. A few weeks ago, I installed three Fibaro smoke detectors in my home— one in the basement near the dryer, one in the kitchen, and one upstairs near the kids’ bedrooms. My main goal was to create a smart flow where all detectors would trigger an alert if any one of them detected smoke. Initially, I wasn’t sure how to set this up, but after some research and reaching out to the community, I found a great solution using my smart home hub. It was a bit of a learning curve, but the result is a much safer home environment.

Another area I’ve been focusing on is my Wyze camera setup. I recently upgraded my Wi-Fi router, and while everything else seems to be working smoothly, I noticed that my Wyze cameras are taking a few extra seconds to respond to commands. I suspect this might be due to the change in subnet, as I switched from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.1.1. My theory is that the Wyze app now has to communicate through the internet instead of directly on the local network, which adds some latency. I’m planning to revert the subnet to see if that helps, but I’d love to hear if anyone else has experienced this or has a workaround.

On a lighter note, I’ve also been experimenting with creating custom scenes using my Wyze bulbs. It’s amazing how a little color can transform the mood of a room! I’d love to hear if anyone has any creative scene ideas or tips for getting the most out of their Wyze setup.

Overall, I’m really happy with how my smart home is coming together. It’s a mix of trial and error, but each new feature I add makes my home a bit more convenient and secure. If anyone has questions or tips about setting up detectors, cameras, or any other smart devices, feel free to reach out—I’d be happy to help!
