I’ve been exploring ways to optimize my smart lighting setup using Philips Hue bulbs and the Homey Pro system. After setting up my Hue bridge with Matter, I noticed some inconsistencies in how flows interacted with the lights. Initially, everything worked smoothly, but recently, controlling the lights through flows resulted in error messages. While the Hue app itself functioned perfectly, dimming and other controls through flows were problematic.
After some research, I discovered that Matter integration can sometimes cause conflicts with existing flows, especially if they were created before Matter was enabled. To resolve this, I decided to recreate my flows from scratch, ensuring they were compatible with Matter. This process involved reassigning the Hue devices within the Homey app and verifying their Matter connectivity.
To prevent future issues, I also looked into adjusting the automation settings to prioritize Matter over traditional Zigbee controls. This adjustment seems to have stabilized the system, and now my lights respond seamlessly to both manual and automated commands. It’s been a valuable learning experience in understanding how different protocols interact within a smart home ecosystem.
