I’ve been really impressed with the Highlight feature in the latest update—it’s so handy for quickly spotting important devices or automations. But as someone who loves tinkering with smart home setups, I thought I’d share a few ideas on how this feature could be even better!
First off, I’d love to see more customization options for the Highlight labels. Right now, it’s great that you can add a brief description, but being able to choose colors or even add emojis would make it even more intuitive for different users. For example, a green label for security devices or a red one for energy monitors!
Another thought: what if we could set Highlight to automatically update based on device status? Imagine if your security cameras would pop into Highlight mode if motion is detected, or your thermostats if the temperature drops below a certain threshold. This would make it even easier to stay on top of things without manually checking.
Lastly, I’d love to see Highlight support more device types. Right now, it’s mostly for switches and sensors, but expanding it to include cameras, lights, and even smart plugs would make it a truly versatile tool for everyday use.
