Hi everyone,
I’ve been experiencing a recurring issue with my ESP doorbell, and I’m hoping the community can offer some insights or solutions. The device randomly reboots every week or so, which is quite frustrating. Here’s what I’ve observed:
Every time the reboot happens, the device shows a red triangle error. Checking the web interface, it appears online with its static IP, but rebooting via the web interface doesn’t resolve the issue. Interestingly, rebooting the Homey system through the app or web interface brings the doorbell back online. However, this feels like just treating the symptom rather than the root cause.
Looking into the ESPHome app, it indicates that the physical device is unavailable. This issue typically arises after about a week of smooth operation. I’ve been managing it by scheduling a reboot every 3-4 days, but as I mentioned, this is more of a workaround than a proper fix.
Here are some system details that might help:
- Homey Version: Early 2023 Pro
- Apps Installed: Approximately 22
- RAM Usage: Usually below 1GB out of 2GB
- CPU Usage: Typically under 2%
- Flows: Around 8, mostly basic
- Devices: 17 Zigbee, 1 Z-Wave, 4 Google Cast
I’d love to hear if anyone else has encountered similar issues or has suggestions for a more permanent fix. Is there a way to troubleshoot or improve the stability of the ESP doorbell without relying on frequent reboots? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Best regards,
