Hi all, I’m really excited to share my latest project with you! I’ve been diving into the world of ESP32 and Home Assistant, and I’m thrilled to start working on an air quality monitor. I’ve been researching the best components to use and would love to hear your thoughts and experiences.I’m planning to include a PMS5003 particulate matter sensor, a SenseAir CO2 sensor, and maybe a temp/humidity sensor to round things out. I’m at the schematic and layout stage and have a few questions I’d love to get your input on.Power Options: Should I go with a wall plug, battery power, or something in between? I’m leaning towards using a LiPo battery with a USB 3.1 port and a battery manager, but I’m open to other ideas.Network Connectivity: I’m trying to decide between Matter/Thread, Wi-Fi, or MQTT. Most of my devices are on Zigbee, but I’m considering switching to something more reliable. Any recommendations?ESP32 Varieties: I’m a bit overwhelmed by the different ESP32 models. Which one do you recommend for a project like this?Size and Connectors: I want to keep it as compact as possible without going too extreme. Terminal blocks seem user-friendly, but I’m not sure. Any preferences or tips?I’m really looking forward to hearing your suggestions and learning from your experiences. Thanks in advance for your help! ![]()
